It's About Time is a compilation album of Staffordshire metal band Bashful Alley, a band who never released a full album, this best of work is taken from several demos from 1980, 81, 82 and 3 and their 1982 single "Running Blind".
Bashful Alley are really catchy, whilst they don't play particularly heavy they still have some awesome guitar riffs and some nice solos. The vocals tend to be clean and significantly more powerful than the music, which gives it quite a unique and almost poppy sound as the guitars play in the background.
This is not crud pop though, if you listen to those guitars they sound wonderful and their single "Running Blind" which is definitely the best song on the album is incredibly fun. The uniqueness of Rob Tidd's vocals which are ever so slighlty husky and a bit more relaxed than a lot of singers of the era who were keen to use their range adds a little more character to this rather rare album.
It is the band's most complete work and comes with a booklet filled with information about the band. A definite gem for those who like NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) music.
