Although her voice has always been distinctive and wonderful to listen to, this album shows a more mature quality. If you compare it directly to the first version of this album, you will hear the difference immediately. Especially in the famed 'You Oughta Know'-which had girls crooning drunkenly for months after break-ups and became a kind of girl power mantra. I am a massive fan of the original version but since listening to this album, I...more

Jagged Little Pill Acoustic- released in 2005 suits the new Alanis really well. With her general albums showing a mellower (hippier) side, the acoustic take on the past albums is really a nice idea. The good thing about this album is that the songs still have the familiarity that they did before but with a slightly new sound. Now if you are expecting it to be an album of just Alanis and an acoustic six string, then you will be proved wrong! From the first song 'All I Really Want', she seems to redefine what we come to expect from 'acoustic' set-ups and gives us a lot more for our money with a whole range of acoustic instruments. Santi - The Academy Is
One track is excellent and a couple more are reasonably enjoyable. Poorly produced, too many things going on at once within the sound.

Island Fire - Solabeat Alliance
Some interesting ska punk music is on display here. Not as good as the 'Rise On Up' EP, the live energy has not here been caught.

Got The Thirst - King Prawn
An extremely strong album which blends brilliantly a number of different genres of music. King Prawn is no more.

Cubic Space Division - Cubic Space Division
Fine guitar riffs, supreme vocal style, drum beats of pure brilliance. The music will not be to everyone's taste, may be a little too heavy for some.

Controversy Loves Company - Audition
Hardcore - 2005

Concrete And Udder Chaos - Graveltrap
An energetic and exciting album of pop heavy punk rock music. Don't be silly.

Care In The Community - Babar Luck
An incredibly strong solo album from Babar Luck. The music will not appeal to all, lyrics may be a little too political for some.

Breaking The Fourth Wall - Beecher
The album is a perfect presentation of metalcore music. If you don't like screaming vocals you certainly won't like this.

Atticus - Dragging The Lake Vol.3
Some strong tracks on display here from a variety of excellent bands. A couple of the tracks here are deeply disappointing.
