He was always an unlikely celebrity, was Jarvis Cocker. The gangly indie nerd from Sheffield with the dry acid wit and mean line in charity shop clothing became temporarily one of the most famous musicians in Britain in the mid 90s, when his band Pulp became one the "Britpop Big 3", along with Blur and Oasis. But after Pulp's split in 2001, little was heard of Cocker, bar a few bizarre experiments (such as his weird electro band Relaxed Muscle) and guest appearances (such as his small role in the last Harry Potter film).
