The OC - Mix 1 - SoundtrackFun, Funky, Brilliant, Retro, Loud! (1742 words)

I bought season 1 of the OC on DVD without ever watching an episode because everyone had told me how good it was. I loved it and after I had watched all of the episodes I actually felt sad and a bit lost. That is when I decided to buy the album so I could continue my obsession. I am going to now give you a run down of all the songs on the album and my opinions on them all. Track 1 - South 'Paint the Silence': Fantastic chilled out track. The singing sounds as if it’s echoing and also to me sounds a bit muffled to give it a very easy listening feel. The drum beat is fantastic and the tune is not catchy but memorable even though I don’t think there are actually that many ...

Being completely obsessed with the television show “The O.C” (mainly that Seth Cohen…drool) it was inevitable I was going to run out and buy the soundtrack as soon as it was released. There is just something about the music that is played in that show. In a word the music is just brilliant! The music also isn’t typically what you’d expect to hear on American teen dramas. You know, like the tracks played on shows such as Dawson’s Creek. You know what I’m talking about, melodramatic country singers with whiny voices singing about lurve. The CD is called “Music from The O.C – Mix 1” and is a collection of 12 tracks that have been featured on the show. To whittle it down to 12 tracks must have ...
Hed Kandi Summer 2004Some dancefloor delights for you (235 words)
by benlepensive - written on 14/02/09 (Useful, 36 readings)
You know where you with these Hed Kandi albums, bursting at the seams with endless amounts of funky house fruityness, they capture the essence of weekend clubbing really well. This is one of the stronger albums of the series. On this album: Head straight to the brilliant 'Fade' by Solu Music for a slice of vibrant uplifting funky house. Glorious and sultry female vocals work well with the summery melody, making the song sound alert and fresh. Peyton's gay house anthem 'Higher Place' makes a welcome appearance. His knowing vocals and ability to deliver a rousing chorus make this a stimulating listen. Also on the first disc, check out the remix of Stonebridge, which ...
