Blue Jukebox (The Blue Jukebox: Limited Edition - Chris Rea)
Member Name: Bryn2705
Advantages: Excellent late night whiskey drinking music Disadvantages: N/A This is the nineteenth studio offering by Chris and his first since his 2003 release Blue Street. This album marks a distinct return to a more basic jazz/blues style and will go a long way towards dispelling the MOR tag. Chris's voice just seems to get better and better with real leanings towards the bar room sounds of Tom Waites (no bad thing) My personnel highlight is the opening track "The beat goes on" if only for the very smooth saxaphone playing wich sets the tone for the whole album. Blue Jukebox is without doubt one of the best of Chris's albums and will become classic late night music. Summary: A quality piece of work |
