Kelis is a definite addition to this new wave of "Neo Soul." Her voice is so powerful, the lyrics so moving, and the music the perfect accompaniment. This CD flows from beginning to end. Her style is so unique and versatile, much like some of her female counterparts in this unofficial "Neo Soul" category: Macy Gray, N'Dea Davenport, Nicole Renee, and Cree Summer. Kelis is bound to rise to the top with this debut and I look forward to seeing her perform her work as I await her sophomore attempt--God willing. A must buy for those sick and tired of hearing the same ole' sh-- on the radio about freakin this and that. This is not for the shallow mainstream R&B fan--Kelis has substance and drives home the point that a new music category must be defined for those who break the mold.
