      Very helpful

Check out some of their stuff on www.myspace.com/kamchatkasweden

The self-titled Kamchatka was the debut album of Swedish rock trio Kamchatka. This bluesy riff-heavy rock sounds like something from the late 60s or early 70s that you never quite heard before but definitely fits into that time era even though the band are relatively new.

The band are psychedelic and tend to fly off in to solos left, right and centre and even when you think a guitar solo is just about over, they surprise you by finding a new seemingly obvious way of continuing it that you hadn't thought up.

The vocals are a bit light-weight for me and definitely play second-fiddle to the music itself, which maybe suits it nicely although reminds me a little bit of Sting in a Volvo! The guys are pretty psychedelic but don't go out of their way to experiment or complicate things with other instruments, it is only the guitars that takes them on an endless trip!

With the quality guitar playing, it would be easy to miss out on the drumming but Tobias Strandvik definitely has a big part to play and can always be heard banging away nicely in the background, to give the band a very complete and tight (yet slack when it comes to guitar playing) sound.
