Let Go - Nada Surf

I first saw Nada Surf back in 1996 when their first album had just been released, and waited for years for them to make the inevitable breakthrough which I felt they deserved. They had various contractual issues which did not help, and I was beginning to fear the worst for them when they released this album which, whilst not catapulting them into the mainstream, certainly did a lot to help their popularity. The album starts in reflective mood with Blizzard of 77 , before launching into The Way you wear your Head , a much more upbeat, catchy numnber which is my favourite on the album. Lucky - Nada Surf

Nada Surf are best known for their mid 90 s slacker rock classic, Popular. But they don t sound anything like that. That was a one off. They re really an exceptionally talented melodic rock band, imagine a Semisonic with a rock edge if you will. This is their brand new album, and if I may say myself, it s a bit of a cracker! I d go so far as to say this is their most fully fleshed out and coherent album so far, since picking this up I ve barely removed it from my iPod/PC/Car.
