      Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's tunes are quality stuffs!

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have come with fabulous soundtracks in the past couple of years and their genre of music has been refreshingly new and laidback

Shankar,Loy and Clinton Cerejo teams up for the opening track 'Hey Ya'- an extremely catchy number. Hey Ya! is aimed at the young audiences and succeeds to great extent to create an atmosphere for the songs to follow.

Shankar Mahadevan & Alyssa Mendonsa's classic and rock fusion number 'Uff Teri Ada' is energetic, addictive and very appealing. The song is peppy and energetic when Alyssa takes over and carries classical influence when Shankar croons. The lyrics are a blend too-of fun and meaningful portions.A nice fusion this-perfect for the dance floor!

'Jaane Ye Kya Hua' brings K.K-a singer who is rarely utilized by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.What a joy it is to hear K.K. sing such a fine track-this song belongs to a different league altogether. The composition is simple, laidback and very classy. The lyrics go well with the tune and the end result is nothing short of brilliant.

Kailash Kher's name in the singing column adds lot of expectations and Kailash delivers the finest track of the album. This might well be my most favorite song of the year so far. The lyrics, the composition carries a lot of sad overtones, and Kailash's powerful and rustic voice does justice to the song's content. Sukanya Purayastha as a new female singer does a fine job too-her voice carries a lot of soul which helps in such a song.

Suraj Jagan,Shankar Mahadevan,Caralisa Monteiro & Malika Singh come together for the title track 'Karthik Calling Karthik'-it is basically thematic song that works pretty well audiowise too. The lyrics, vocals are used well which creates a suspenseful ambience!

Next up is another thematic number in the form of 'Karthik 2.0' which is a true instrumental piece by Midival Punditz. I was impressed by their previous work in Don and this track only strengthens their group of creating such stylish theme tracks!

The album also has three remixed versions-of 'karthik calling karthik','Hey Ya!' and 'Uff Teri Adaa' which are all perfect for the dance floor!
