Advantages: Great compilation of tracks
Disadvantages: If you own previous albums there aren't many new songs
After ten years in the music industry Christina Aguilera has released her greatest hits. Featuring seventeen tracks this album shows a new side to Christina, who has now firmly moved from the era of the 1920's into the future!
The tracks are as follow:
Genie in a bottle
What a girl wants
I turn to you
Come on over (all i want is you)
Nobody wants to be lonely (duet with Ricky Martin)
Lady Marmalade
Dirrty
Fighter
Beautiful
The Voice Within
Ain't no other man
Candyman
Hurt
Genie 2.0
Keeps getting better
Dynamite
You are what you are
I especially love the remix of Genie in a bottle entitled Genie 2.0, which Christina performed at this years MTV VMA'S. The song is very computerised (although thankfully Aguilera's voice remains the same)
and i have to say i enjoy the new beats although probably not as much as i enjoyed the historic sound of her Back to Basics album.
Although there are a few remakes of some old songs, as well as two new songs on this album, I do wonder if it is really a sound investment for Aguilera addicts. I have been listening to Christina since she first arrived on the music scene, therefore i own all her previous albums meaning i already have access to 13/17 tracks. The other new songs can easily be bought on itunes or the new amazon digital download service, and will cost approximately £3.60 therefore I would recommend that you download instead the songs you are missing from your collection as i have.
The exception to this of course is if you are a new fan, or simply a fan who hasn't collected all the albums, if this is the case then i would recommend you buy this album which do feature her best songs.
This review is my own work, currently posted on other sites also.

- 27/06/09 This is actually too varied a compilation for me and the earlier stuff doesn't sit well with the more recent stuff. |
