Advantages: A Great album that will remain in the history of metal

Disadvantages: Mustaine didn't get the credit he deserved

The debut album from Metallica that made people worldwide listen to the epic sound of Metal. The art work shows malice intent, evil and bodily harm which is entirely appropriate as this music is usually looked down on but was created to kick ass! The simple colours used for the cover are brilliant of black, white and red as it keeps the image clear and gets it's point across.

The cd kicks off with 'Hit The lights' and is a song that just hits you and makes you realize that this album was made to be known and that other bands around couldn't mirror the creativity. My favorite songs of the album include 'No Remorse', 'Jump in the fire', 'Phantom Lord' and 'Seek and Destroy'. The song 'Pulling Teeth- Anesthesia' was created by Cliff Burton who was an extremely talented bassist and his abilities are shown in this song.

This disc is truely metal at it's finest as it consists of James Hetfiled singing well before he damaged his voice, Dave Mustaine/ Kirk Hammett producing guitar riffs and solos that can be listened to over and over again, bass being played at it's best by Cliff Burton who wont be forgotten and some decent drumming from Lars Ulrich.

Summary: Metallica during their peak
