Advantages: Great upbeat songs, good song writing

Easy who I hear you ask? Easyworld! There a really good little indie type band. This is there second album. Kill the last romantic came out back in 2003. I bought this on the strenth of hearing one song, and I'm glad I did. Here is why I like it:

1. Kill The Last Romantic - Short little intro, gives you an idea of what kind of sound your in for. 8/10

2. 2nd Amendment - Brilliant. A real feel good song. Very upbeat, some clever lyrics. Song opens with 'So you want to live forever' and after hearing this a few times, you realise you do! 10/10

3. Drive - This is a slower song. Has a really nice mellow sound to it. Another good one. 7/10

4. 'Til The Day - This is the reason I bought the album. I heard this song once and thought, 'hmmm, these guys could be something special'. The version I heard was edited, the album version has a bit of language in it which spoils it really. 'I'd gladly put up with your s*** till the day that I die'. I think it's really nice when you feel like that about someone, if you know what I mean. 9/10

5. A Lot Of Miles From Home - Another really slow song. This one is not quite as powerful as the previous song however. Weak. 6/10

6. Celebritykiller - This song makes me smile. It's not a classic but I like the lyrics. 7/10

7. All I Can Remember - Another slower one, but it does build up. Just lacks something this song, sounds like it's going to be really good, but then just isn't. 7/10

8. Tonight - Another really touching song on the piano. Again shows a real tender side to the band, nice! 8/10

9. When You Come Back, I Won't Be Here - Another upbeat really lively song. Excellent all round, gets you tapping along. 8/10

10. Saddest Song - A little miserable for me this one, as you would expect from a title like that! 6/10

11. You Have Been Here - A strange song, with some blues guitar in. 7/10

12. Goodnight - Your hoping the band are going to finish off on a high. I think they do. This is almost like two songs in one, the first runs for about four mins then it fades into soft music which builds in pace and power until the first track is played again, but this time with a different sound. Loud and powerful and a brilliant way to the end album! 'Play back this tape I swear you'll see, I only want you to be with me, kill the last romantic, and come back to me'. Excellent way to round it off! Well done! 9/10

It's also worth mentioning there is a bonus CD with this album. It has seven remixed versions of the songs. Not usually into things like this, but some of them are very good and I do sometimes stick that on! It adds too the album.

So overall a really good album, chances our you have never heard of this band. If not I recommend you give them a try. I think the bonus CD is a good idea and they get an extra point for adding that! 9/10

Summary: A brilliant little indie pop album!
