King of Fools was Delirious? first album. It was released in 1998 and for this reason some of the tracks sound a bit dated. A fair bit of the backing is electronic and distorted. However the guitar and drums really carry through, and the vocals are extremely powerful. Listening to these songs in the background you could get quite a way through the album before realising this is a Christian band. However reading the lyrics there is a clear Christian message here. I wouldn't go so far as to say they will appeal to non-Christians anyway, however Delirious? do deliver a good mix of indie guitar thrashing alongside a Christian message. The second song on the ... This is another brilliant album by Delirious and one which if you buy will not disappoint you. My favoutite tracks on this CD are "What a friend i've found" and "History Maker". The album boasts a variety of different songs from ballads to faster songs and also ones which have very catchy, memorable tunes. It is these memorable tunes which will have you singing for weeks. I really wish that Delirous would recieve more radio play and publicity than they do. They recieve very little because they are a christian band. The lyrics are obviously christian in this album. The songs all have a strong message. I reall think that many people would ... Read the complete review

'King of Fools' is an excellent album to follow the Cutting Edge albums. Although most of the music isn't really the type of music you could class as worship music to be sung in Church, there is an exception - 'What a friend I've found'. Also, I would say that the fact that the album isn't really worship music does not detract from its appeal to Delirious fans. Once you get used to the new direction Delirious take in this album, you can only like what you hear - there are some excellent songs such as 'Deeper', (which is close to being my favourite Delirious song) 'King or Cripple' and Sanctify'. The songs still have ... Read the complete review

This Delirious album is a masterpiece from start to finish, great music all the way. The lyrics are unlike the original cutting edge albums of yester year, but these tunes still demonstrate Martin and the band's devotion to Christ while still trying to reach out to all. 'History maker' is a fantastic song with strong lyrics. It speaks of God's working in this generation and our heart's cry to follow God wholeheartedly. The track 'Deeper' cries out so much truth in one line of the chorus. That's the only way to live our walk with God, "to fall more in love with Him". Smee is a legend on the drums throughout. Plenty of cymbal ... Read the complete review

Sorry to let others down but this clearly is not their best album. This is however a good album to worship too which is better than others of theirs. I love it how the cover of this album is a bit obscure and it shows that christians have a bit of a sense of humour and are not square. The standout track is definitely Deeper its great riff at the beggining makes you really wana dance and takes me back to the time when they released the song in the charts in about 94. History maker is also good and always realigns my mind on the job we have to do. But other good songs are sanctify and what a friend ive found. The rest of the songs i dont really love ... An unsettling mix, and not always in the good way.
Age Of Chaos - Battleroar
More classic metal, this time enhanced by modern folk touches.
Similar guitar tone makes songs sound somewhat alike on the surface.
