Listening to it now, it is a little tame, but still rocks with their other releases. After producing 3 studio albums of differing quality and sales not entirely eart-shattering, Kiss decided that the best way for people to enjoy their music was to let them hear the live versions, as their concerts were always more popular than vinyl. The Alive! album single-handedly pulled Kiss (and their record company Casablanca) out of the red and very much into the black, as people could not get enough of this double-platter effort.
