A 'traditional' opening, with familiar organ dominating. 'Non Stop' is a spare, 'poppy' song that contains a clever key-change chorus and is about a nun's love for her 'man': "Says she's not frustrated in... anyway". Ladies and gentlemen, please take your partners for the last waltz! Okay, it's not really an appropriate image to conjure up when thinking of the Stranglers but it is a picture that comes to my mind whenever I think about or listen to 'La Folie'. Released at the end of 1981, this was the band's sixth studio album and the last they released for EMI (four under 'United Artists' and two under 'Liberty'). Five years had elapsed since their first recording, and with the release of 'La Folie' there was an unmistakeable feeling that the band had gone full-circle.
