This CD is definitley a bit of a puzzle. Partly a Remix EP and partly a preview for Emilie s book "The Asylum For Wayward Victorian Girls", there s quite a considerable amount of material covered here. The original tracks show how diverse Emilie s taste in music is. "4 O Clock" is a piece that combines electronics with her trademark violing to create a sound that immediatley makes you think of Steampunk literature and drawings. "My Fairweather Friend" could easily be a demo from Amanda Palmer s solo album (being a fan of Palmer, thats high praise indeed) and then there s the jaw-dropping track "Organ Grinder". I started listening to Emilie Autumn s music several months before this CD, her second full length album featuring vocals, was released.
