Advantages: wonderful

Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space a female voice sings. Then the music begins gentle voice whispering tunefully “all I want in life s a little bit of love to take the pain away” this tune slowly develops, other musicians joining in and more voices echoing the words “all I want is love, a little bit of love to take the pain away” “getting strong today” beautiful haunting music lifting your spirits (Don’t we all need that little bit of love? I know I do) Next track a hammering of drums then a solid guitar riff louder beat little Johnny, “come on come together” A more invigorating tune makes me want to move my body the music getting right into me lifting and soaring Next a little more subdued melody (this melody haunts this track) “ Suns so bright that I am nearly blind” “ feel the warmth in the sun “Free as the water and air that I breath” a gentle song with a haunting air, it’s a sad little tune “Think I am in love probably just hungry, Think I’m your friend? Probably just lonely. Think I can fly, probably just falling Think I can rock and roll, probably just twisting Sad words we are not always what we seem people don’t always see us, as we would like to be seen I think I am in love repeated several times then it finishes Next track a few single notes building up to a voice singing sadly, “I don’t know what to do by myself, cos all of my time was with you, all of my thoughts are of you,” then more of a beat music trilling and wailing a long note. A sad little song of being left alone. The music makes you feel sad, and thinking about been lonely the pain of being with out the one you love makes me want to hold and squeeze my husband seeking confirmation of his love. Next a few notes structured in such a way as to mak
e you hope the music will lift you out of sadness. “ Stay with me don’t go” “ love the way you smile, smile all the time don’t go. Hold me all of the time” no it doesn’t lift me the notes go down sadder giving that feeling of despair trying to convince someone to stay but knowing they will leave a begging song maybe there is a little hope there at the end Now in to a rock beat lifts the spirits .Electricity, another begging song. “ I need someone to turn it on electricity”. A bit more cheerful my heads nodding, tapping Come on, the music moves into a song about being left this brings the spirits down a bit. “Ripp it up tear it up got to get it off of my soul” “I don’t even miss you”” come on” Long notes to evoke feelings of pain and anguish in you. (It works) some squawky squeaky notes ohh it really wrings the emotion out of you painfully, that’s better its ending the pain may stop now a few last echoes of the painful notes No it’s not getting cheerful a few long mournful notes are played “I have a broken heart so I have a broken dream and I am crying all the time, I have to keep it covered up with a smile” The music is not cheerful (not to be listened to when you are feeling sad or have just broken up with someone) it’s a haunting melody Ah a change shorter notes quicker a more steady beat rising up is there hope I wonder it doesn’t lift me completely, a lower note, bells ringing sad funeral notes to begin “baby when you go to sleep lay your head down low, don’t let the world lay heavy on your soul” words whispered Lighter music now “Cool water running free lay your sweet hand on me cos I love you love you, love you” this has a sort of gospel feel to some of it. “If you’ve got to leave youR
17;ve got to le ave” “cos I love you, love you” It’s a sad thoughtful song Ah a jingling sounds like money in a pocket a little more cheerful a steady beat a little light keyboard sounds a few quivering notes .No I was misled its not cheerful at all “Hey man there’s a hole where all the money goes, Hey man there’s a hole in my head where information goes” “ All my friends died for nothing I suppose” It’s a song about the pointlessness of life. This has developed into a dour song, mournful about feeling sorry for yourself finishes with a long phrase of discordant notes of anguish and pain wallowing in self pity Ahhhhhhhh hhhhhhhaaaaaaa ahhhhhhhh hhhhhhhaaaaaaaaa ahhaahhh haaaaaahaahh “Cos your so sweet” “ find my way back home” quiet gentle whispering The CD finishes leaving me feeling I hear my husband awake coming downstairs for breakfast , let me go give him a hug. Music moves me. This is how I interpret this CD as I listen to it playing Jason Pierce, Spiritualised vocalist sings in a very lazy drawn out way the words seem to float on the fuzzy electronic harmonies and some crashing melodies Since this CD was produced Spiritualised the band has changed personal a little I like this CD a lot When we saw them at Glastonbury they were Spellbinding I was stunned into awe and admiration. We missed seeing them at Northhampton this last week. Thought we might go but we were weary from work and its an hour each way so decided not to go guess we might catch them another time not so keen on the last cd they produced anyway its ok but that’s all. Anyway huggs and breakfast awaiting.Bye Mary
