Lamb is a duo consisting of producer/drum programmer Andy Barlow and singer/songwriter Lou Rhodes. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1996, is filled with electronic sounds occasionally contrasted with acoustic instruments, some thumping drum n bass beats and a few stand-out tunes. Lou does not have the strongest vocals and the melodies are frequently sparse or neglected resulting in a number of tracks failing to really grip the listener; however when the album shines, it really shines. It simply consists of one bloke who does the music, and one lady who does the vocals. The music is quite trippy and ambient, and varies greatly from track to track and album to album. The vocals are beautiful. I have to say this, though it isn’t intended as an insult. The vocals are a ... Read the complete review
