Advantages: Completely original

Disadvantages: None in my opinion

Finaly an album and band that has brought undergorund electro/house music steaming back into public conciousness, for all of you who thought dance music was dead, think again.
Little did you know the dirty dance music torch has been burning deep underground kept alight by the dedicated cheek chewing ravers in clubs accross the country, theyre little secret since the commercial superclubs like cream and home shut down in the late 90's. well now the secrets out, Lcd soundsystems rare blend of hard and heavy beats mixed with memorable melodys and lyrics is enough to keep both weathered house heads and more commercial minded folk satisfied at the same time, a very tricky feat indeed!

Onstage The bands lineup is: Pat Mahoney (drums); Nancy Whang (keyboards, vocals); Tyler Pope (bass), Phil Mossman (guitar, percussion, keys, bass.) and James Murphy (singer). In the studio though its just james, the mastermind behind the whole project, hes the one in the studio using his vast producing background to create something amazing and new, in some circles he has earnt himself the title of the 'pharrell williams of funk/punk'.

The album opens with 'Daft punk is playing at my house' an electro funk masterpiece about the concept of hiring the band 'daft punk' to play at your house party, this song is probably the most well known off the album, with its radio friendly tune and funky beats, brilliant music to have a little boogy to in your bedroom and to catch in a DJ set alike.

For me other stand out tracks include the recent single 'Tribulations' which uses a similar formula to daft punk and 'losing my edge' which although this is LCD's first album has been a undergroud dance floor classic for years. I think this is the best track on the album due to its cutting lyrics that murphy talks in ironic monotone , about inner citys trendy pretencious youth struggling and bullshitting theyre way to being the coolest hipster in town, he sings
"I heard that everyone you know is more relevant than everyone i know"
There are also a few gutiar laden songs in there aswell for any indie lovers who are feeling a bit adventurous. ('movement 'and 'im never as tired as when im waking up')

Now, i love this album but its not for everyone, if youve got no interest in repetitve beats whatsoever even with a decent tune over the top maybe dont bother, but if youve got an open mind then buy this album its like nothing else youve ever heard. but you do need to listen to this album 4 or 5 times before the gems begin to reveal themselves.

Go out and buy it this album, LCD soundsystem are the future in music!!!

Summary: Amazing Indie - Dance crossover record for ravers and popsters alike
