Lead Sails Paper Anchor - Atreyu

I have been an atreyu fan since i bought there first album many years ago on a recomondation from a mate. I was very excited about them bringing out new material however i was sorely disappointed. This album has some good songs on it eg Falling Down, Becoming The Bull and Doomsday, but it doesnt seem to me like they made this album because they wanted to more that they had to, it sounds to forced. Usually i don't mind a band changing their musical direction eg Papa Roach but in this case they should've listened to the " you can't fix something that aint broke" saying and stuck with the beautiful metalcore we all know and love. I first heard about this band in an English lesson when my teacher said they were quite good and I decided to check them out. When I got home and found their songs on YouTube I immediately loved them. Lead Sails, Paper Anchor is a hard rock / metal album which was released by Atreyu in 2007. Every time I hear about a band I always hope that I don't waste my time when I give them a chance; I always pray that they have a great skill and passion for the music they play. Most of the bands in history who had these qualities were quite prevalent in the 80's and the first half of the 90's in the heavy metal scene. I have been greatly disappointed for the most part with the impassionate crap that came out in the last half of the 90's and early 2000's, but occasionally something good catches my mind and ear.
