Advantages: harder sound

Disadvantages: ..

Lechuza is Fenix TX’s follow up to their self-titled debut album.
Since their Last album the band have changed their line-up. Donnie is no longer with the band, Damon is now on drums and former guitar tech James Love is now the guitarist.
In total there are 11 tracks, although there is also a hidden track at the end of track 11.
Whilst many bands move closer to “pop” with newer albums Fenix TX have done the opposite. Lechuza is much more of a harder album than their previous.
It has fewer tracks than the previous but on ‘Fenix TX’ track 13 was a joke song, and I would say this album is definitely better.
It is difficult to go track by track, as it would seem like all the tracks are the same. Some tracks are similar but definitely not near the same.
Many of the tracks are catchy but not in their tune, more in their lyrics, where certain lyrics are repeated and can be “shouted” along to. The majority of the tracks are certainly ones which would get a crowd going in a live performance.
Tracks such as this are “Pasture Of Puppets” in which the lyrics repeated are ‘Say what you want, but I’m running again. Do what you want, but I’m running again.
Also in “Katie W” ‘hey’ is repeated to a good effect, complimenting the rest of the lyrics very well making a very good song.
The Song to be released from this album (at least in the US) is “threesome” – a track that mixes slow lyrics and fast music very well.
A song that somewhat stands out is “A Song For Everyone”, its title is very true. It is very similar to the type of sound that their debut album gave us.
I would say that my favourite tracks are “Manufactured Inspirato” and “Beating A Dead Horse” as they are 2 tracks that just seem to stand out to me.
The Album has taken some critisicm of some so called fans, who feel that it
isn’t pop-punk enough. I personally find that ridiculous, the fact that they have changed to a harder sound (to me) is much better.

Like I have said before A good album is when you can listen to it from start till finish without a skip and this album is one, although you may have to wait a long time before you get the hidden bit on the last track.
If you like this type of music then it is definitely an album to add to your collection.
