I remember a couple of years ago buying this, now i dont know where its gone but i did give it a quick listen a while ago. Natalie Imbruglia is an example of artists from Neighbours and Australia who have managed to retain a successful music career. This her debut album, is backed by the hugeness of the success that was Torn, very catchy, great point of view video and beautifully sang. It has that chorus, it's so radio friendly - it's beyond a classic. One More Addiction, is weird - i find it catchy and it has great good hooks and melodies to it, lyrically its good and production wise its roughness and with hoarse accent Natalie is putting it does the song ... When soap stars make the transition from soap to music they need to be sure that the image is bang on. Some get it right, Kylie hit the market at the right time with the right bubblegum pop image, whereas some get it wrong (Stefan Dennis anyone?). Luckily, Natalie underwent a haircut and scrubbed up pretty well. She also arrived with a rather good song... Who is she: Played Beth in Neighbours, launched a music career, but has been quiet for the last few years. On this album: Regardless of the longrunning argument of who actually wrote the song, 'Torn' remains one of those indelible pop records which will still sound just as ... Read the complete review

Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Cell Block H, Rolf "Can You Tell What it is Yet?" Harris, being descended from crimianls, Castlemaine XXXX.... Forget all of that now as the Antipodes have got something to be truly proud of. Ms. Imbruglia, please stand up,... and sing. Natale Imbruglia leapt onto our screens as a bit of a "dag" (no, I don't know what one of them is either)in Home & Away, fitting in well with the cast by pretending to be a poor actress of sub-mollusk intellect (definiton of: Soap Star - Australian - Australian Soap Star - Home Ec. Teacher). She then re-appeared, just as we were getting used to not seeing her being involved in ... Read the complete review

LEFT OF THE MIDDLE is the title of Australian pop star NATALIE IMBRUGLIA's album. The album consists of 12 tracks. The opening song TORN is a powerful track. The lyrics focus on a broken relationship with Imbruglia's vocals sounding mellow. The melodies are good as is the chorus which is very heartfelt. ONE MORE ADDICTION has harrowing lyrics and passionate vocals. The chorus is haunting with the music gentle, but meaningful. BIG MISTAKE is a faster paced tune that includes a decent rhythm and a fine chorus. Unfortunantly the song has a negative vibe to it which detracts slightly from the music. LEAVE ME ALONE has alot of ... Read the complete review

My first introduction to Natalie Imbruglia was her video for the song “Big Mistake” which was showing on MTV in some hotel I was in. I certainly liked the song and decided to borrow the CD from my local library. I was so impressed by the first track, which is her version of “Torn”, I went to buy the CD. This is a really good first album and, what is increasingly rare these days, she actually wrote all bar two tracks on the CD. I was completely unaware of her being from an Australian soap opera and I’m glad because that could well have made me very biased against buying the CD. ... Read the complete review
