Advantages: Catchy easy to learn songs

Disadvantages: A lot different to her newer music

This album is my favorite one by Avril Lavigne. I love Complicated and Sk8er Boi the best out of all of the songs but they are all great. The lyrics to many of Avril Lavigne's songs are things that everyone is able to relate to in one way or another and this makes them more appealing to the buyer. This was another of the first albums I added to my MP3 player and still listen to on a regular basis. The songs never get boring. They have catchy beats and easy to learn lyrics and this made me immediately like them. I would definately recommend buying this album. It is vastly different to Avril Lavigne's newer music but I think that this is better than the newer music.

The tracks included on this album are:

Losing Grip
This track is quite a slow, quiet track. It is about a relationship with someone which she feels strongly about which is turning bad. It would appeal to a vast audience because it is about something which happens to everyone at some point. The chorus is more energetic but the majority of the song is quiet slow.

Complicated
The introduction to this song is quite slow and quiet but then once the main part of the song begins, the song becomes more catchy and easy to learn. Again, this song is about a relationship she has had. It is also quite easy to relate to which would appeal to many.

Sk8er Boi
This song is much more energetic than the previous two and louder as well. Again, a catchy tune which will appeal to those interested in the punk genre. There is a story unravelling in this song which makes it more appealing.

I'm With You
Once again, the tempo of this song is quite slow. People could relate to it, however. There is a sad aspect to this song, both emphasised by the slow music and by the slow lyrics. It does pick up more energy at the chorus, however.

Mobile
A faster, more upbeat song with a longer introduction than the other previous songs. This song sounds different to the others but the lyrics are about a similar thing to the other songs.

Unwanted
This song has a stronger musical aspect to it than many of the others with more instruments used. The sound is similar to that in "Mobile" and the lyrics are similar as well, although this song has a stronger chorus.

Tomorrow
The main instrument in this song is the guitar, although there is a drum beat as well. This song is quite similar to "Im WIth You", although it is much slower and less energetic. This song shows positives and negatives of relationships.

Anything But Ordinary
This song is more about being different to everyone else than about relationships, like the previous songs. However, there are still references to relationships. Again, drums and guitar are main instruments in this song.

Things I'll Never Say
There is much more energy in this song than in quite a few of the others, apart from "Sk8er Boi" and "My World". The tempo is much faster in this song. The lyrics are about relationships again.

My World
This song also has a faster tempo than the majority of other songs. This song has a story to it as well, like Sk8er Boi. There is an emphasis on relationships and the future in this song.

Nobody's Fool
The genre of this song sounds as though it is closer to rap, although it is slower than rap songs would be. It is more of a pop song than any of the other songs on the album as well.

Too Much To Ask
Relationships is the main topic of this song. Lavigne is discussing how her relationships have changed throughout the time she was with the other person. This song is easy to relate to which makes it more appealing to the listener.

Naked
Another slow song, it describes making it through another day of life's game. The main aspect of this song is also relationships and their affects on people.
