I have always been a fan of Avril Lavigne as I found her to have a total mixture of songs she would do slow songs and fast songs, and I decided to go out and buy this album when it was released in 2002.

My views of the songs
=================

Losing grip - This song is a mixture of slow music then up tempo music, all through the main song you just have a guitar playing slowly, but then when it hits the chorus you have the drums that come in and the song goes faster. I really like this song, and it is a good one to start the album off with. The song was wrote by Avril, the song is about losing grip of your boyfriend as it is not meant to be. This was her fourth single released off this album but did only reach number 22 in the charts, which I thought it should have done better than that.

Complicated - The was Avril's first single released from this album, the song did only reach to number 3 in the charts, but the song is just great, it starts off yet again slow then starts to get a little more uptempo with in the chorus, but it does not go too much uptempo. I did really like this song but it seemed a lot more repetative than her other songs. The song was also nominated for two grammy awards but it lost out to both awards.

Sk8er boi - This was also released as a single, which was her second single to be released from the album, but it only reached number 8 this time. This is a more uptempo song all the way through, with the drums and guitar playing. The song has some meaning to it, and basically is saying that looks could be deceiving in a person, and never think you are too good for anyone. This is another song that I really liked. I liked the singling the lyrics and the music to this.

I'm with you - This was the third single to be released from this album and did only reach number 7. This was also nominated for two grammy awards but lost out to both again. This was Avril's first ballad to be released and it was such a good song, the first time I heard it I loved it. It was an unusual song for Avril and she really showed off her singing vocals in this song. The song is pretty slow most the way through, but with good lyrics and music this was a hit in my eyes.

Mobile - This is one of the songs that was not released as a single from her album, but I do feel that this is not one of her better songs anyway, its one that I can easily skip through on the album, it is ok and is listenable, but there are a lot better songs on this album than this. The song starts of slow with it getting more of a beat towards the chorus. Not a song for me but others may like it.

Unwanted - This is another that she never released as a single, but I do really like this song, the beat on this really gets you going, it does start off slow, but then has a right beat to it that just gets you going into the song. I would recommend this song for a few listens though as you may not like it straight away, but I did.

Tomorrow - This is another song that I really love that was not brought out as a single, but the song is a pretty slow one, most of the way way through. But Avril's voice really shows in this song. She sings it beautifully. This is probably one of my best songs on this album, that I could just listen to again and again.

Anything but ordinary - Another song that was never released as a single, this is another slowish song with the tempo going up every now and again, the song is good but there is better on the album, but it is a decent song that is worth listening to.

Things I'll never say - This is yet another good song on this album, that I really enjoy listening to. Its another one that starts off slow but builds up tempo a little bit but not too much. just a little bit more beat to the song.

My world - This is a decent song that starts off with more of a beat in it than others, it is not too fast a beat but just enough enough to get the feet tapping along to the song. It is not one of her best songs on this album but it is one that is worth listening to.

Nobody's fool - This is one song I am not too keen on in this album, I am not saying I would not listen to it, but there is not much to it, her voice always overpowers the music, and not too much of a beat to it, it is still worth a listen to but its just not a song I am too keen on.

Too much to ask - This is another song which is not a favourite, but it is worth a listen to. The words seem to mean more to life in this song, the song is quite slow but when I listen to the words it made me really like this song. She sings this very well.

Naked - The final song on this album is yet another slow one, it is again not one of her best songs, and sometimes I do skip this song. I don't like it too much, although her voice is good on the song, it's just not a song I am too keen on but others probably like it.

My overall opinion

This is one album I have never tired of listening to, there is certain songs I may skip, but I am like that with any album I own, I have never owned an album where I do not skip some songs. The album is overall great and all the songs are worth a listen to but some just get a little boring.

There is a lot of beats the same in some of her songs, but the tone of her voice usually changes so that you do not notice the same beats too much. This is one album I will keep in my collection and still listen to for years to come, you just do not seem to get bored listening to her voice. There is no other artist out there that has a voice like hers, its such a distinctive voice, and that is what I like about her, you will never hear anyone else sing like her. And she has a great voice for whatever song she sings. I would highly recommend this album.
