good one, so let your CD trundle on after track 11, okay? So Who Are These Guys Then? Right, time to name names. The Thrills are Conor Deasy on vocals, Daniel Ryan on guitar, vocals and bass, Ben Carrigan is on drums, Kevin Horan is on the keys, and Padraic McMahon is on bass, vocals and guitar. They’re all 23, and may I put in a special word for Mr Deasy here because he’s got a gorgeous and distinctive voice and is also really rather cute. In a messy, Irish kind of way. Anyway, from what I’ve seen on Later with Jools Holland, they’re also very very good live and their songs are probably better suited to being performed live to being ...

Most people would be rather surprised to hear that The Thrills who broke through last year with their debut album ?So Much For The City are Irish?. They certainly do not sound it due to their mix of Beach Boy harmonies, country sounding songs and references to American cities and Californian surfing spots. Their sound is as American as Apple Pie, Cheerleading and dodgy foreign policy. I discovered them after repeated hearings of the very catchy breakthrough single ?Big Sur? and liked them enough to chance buying the album soon after it came out in the summer of last year from HMV for £10.99. So did the Thrills totally thrill me? The Thrills are a five piece from Dublin ...
