The best album ever (Life After Death - Notorious B.I.G)
Member Name: Serpell
Advantages: A brilliant mixture of styles of rap music Disadvantages: None
Life After Death was released just after Biggie was killed and turned him into one of, if not the greatest rapper ever. This is not just a follow up to Ready To Die because there are so many different styles of rap on it. It is very experimental in the way that Biggie tries to make rap music much deeper than someone spitting rhymes over a series of heavy beats. There are of course some very hard-hitting tracks but there are also a lot of R&B and almost Pop tracks. The one thing that really makes this album is BIG’s style, the way he can make a rap seem so effortless but so meaningful. This is not another album about a young black rapper trying to make money because he did that with Ready To Die, this is about what he’s doing now he’s got the money. The artists that are featured on this album add depth to Biggie’s own rhymes. They include Jay-Z on the brilliant I Love The Dough, Lil’ Kim on Another, 112 on the excellent Sky’s The Limit and R.Kelly on **** You Tonight, as well as many others. If you have never heard The Notorious BIG before or don’t really like rap music you should listen to this album. You might be able to tell that I like this album just a little. Summary: |
