When Dido burst onto the scene a few years ago, I have to say that I wasn’t terribly enthused. I didn’t particularly like the vocals on Thank You, and although I wouldn’t say that I disliked any of her songs, I never felt compelled to buy anything that she recorded. Whether her musical style has changed, or whether my musical tastes have mellowed, I’m not sure, but just lately I seem to find myself listening to nobody else. Despite the fact that she smiles in nearly every photograph I have ever seen, there is something inherently sad about Dido’s music. She tends to sing about sad things, for a start. Failed relationships, unrequited love, separation and ... Read the complete review

I must admit, I have always found Dido about as interesting as grass (not very.) That said, her music is quite restful and her voice always manages to put me at ease, even the darkest of moments. This is her second release. Who is she: Dido is a multi Brit award winning singer and songwriter. At the peak of her fame at the turn of the century. On this album: The title track is a sombre affair with Dido turning in some heartfelt lyrics and a very mellow tune. It is an accessible song and finds her wafting her way through it with ease. She sings effortlessly and this always makes the tracks that extra bit ... Read the complete review

Dido does it again. Another lovely album. A well deserved number one. I'm just going to take you through the tracks. 1. White Flag Many of you will haveheard this. It has had a lot of airtime on the radio. And with good reason. This is classic Dido. Dido at her best. It really grows on you after a while. It is a pleasure to listen to, and it is catchy. I really like the start, it has a haunting first beginning notes and then her gentle voice comes gliding gracefully into it. The lyrics are easy to understand, and interesting at the same time. 2. Stoned I would say this was my favourite track. It is very full of attitude. I ... Read the complete review

I loved Dido's first album No Angel and it rarely left my CD player or my PC CD player... that is my first hint at why I'm not so thrilled with this one. I listen to a lot of my legally bought CD's on my PC while I'm working and knowing that this CD carries some kind of virus, in the name of Copyright Protection, I haven't dared put it in my PC. That is not Copy Protection, that is destroying other people's property and taking away a persons freedom of choice.... NOT ACCEPTABLE. If I legally buy my music I expect to be able to play it however I choose! Anyway, rant over, I found this album ok to listen to on occasion. But it was quite depressing ... Read the complete review
