Disadvantages: Songs all sound the same

I loved Dido's first album No Angel and it rarely left my CD player or my PC CD player... that is my first hint at why I'm not so thrilled with this one.

I listen to a lot of my legally bought CD's on my PC while I'm working and knowing that this CD carries some kind of virus, in the name of Copyright Protection, I haven't dared put it in my PC. That is not Copy Protection, that is destroying other people's property and taking away a persons freedom of choice.... NOT ACCEPTABLE. If I legally buy my music I expect to be able to play it however I choose!

Anyway, rant over, I found this album ok to listen to on occasion. But it was quite depressing and very monotone, with little distinction of pitch changes on any of the tracks. One sounded very much like the next, unlike the varied style on No Angel. I do like the song White Flag and bought the album based upon that one song, expecting the rest of it to be great, as on No Angel, where I bought that album after hearing only the tracks that featured in Roswell.

The rest of Life for rent, was a real disappointment. I will be waiting until I hear several more tracks before buying her next album!
