Advantages: A few pretty good tracks feature here.

Disadvantages: The album sounds a bit like an inferior copy of the bands debut.

'Life Is Peachy' is the second studio album from Korn, it was released through Epic Records in November 1996 and consists of a total of fourteen tracks. The album provides for 48 minutes of music entertainment, it's not so strong as the bands debut album in my opinion but does however provide for quite an interesting overall listening experience. With this album Korn further focussed its music in the genre of nu-metal, it's really quite similar in sound to the bands debut album; not so packed full of quality however and really just an inferior copy of the bands first album 'Korn'.

The album begins with the 50 second 'Twist', a pretty decent way to begin the album and one which the band follows through launching into the four minute 'Chi'. The guitar riffs are heavy, a hip-hop influence can definitely here be heard, and a couple of cover tracks have even here been included. Covered here are Ice Cube's 'Wicked' and War's 'Lowrider' also; both these cover tracks are well put across by the band and for those that are familiar with the originals these are definite tracks of music which highly entertain.

Of the tracks which the band actually wrote here I'd have to say that those which are best put across by Korn here are 'A.D.I.D.A.S.', 'Porno Creep', and final track 'Kill You' also. All three of these really are excellent; the nu-metal sound of Korn is exceptionally well put across in both 'A.D.I.D.A.S.' and 'Kill You', 'Porno Creep' is one of my favourites from this album however for pure value of fun. It sounds as though it would better belong in a porn film, and given the title of the track this is something that shouldn't really come as any massive surprise.

This is not the best album that Korn has ever written as a band, by the bands standards it's actually fairly average but does still include a good few top quality tracks. This album is incredibly similar to the bands debut album 'Korn', the tracks are not so powerfully put across by the band but most definitely there is still a strong guitar presence here. The band implements elements of hip-hop incredibly well into its sound here; hip-hop and metal are combined to great effect by the band on a number of occasions and when Korn gets the formula right here the music is absolutely brilliant. Most of this album is fairly unspectacular, there are definitely shining moments of excellence however and if you can find this album cheap enough then definitely give this a listen. The current Amazon price for 'Life Is Peachy' is £2.98; an absolute bargain in my opinion and one which is clearly crying out to be taken advantage of.

Summary: 'Life Is Peachy' is the second studio album from Korn which was released in 1996.

I agree that the metal/hip-hop balance was really good on this one, though I hated that 'Wicked' thing.
