After the massive debut hit with the self titled album ? Korn ? fans were expecting great things of this band. 2 years after the first album Korn released this great masterpiece. ? Life is peachy ? is an excellent album and is a must with all Korn Fans.With this album, Korn have delved deeper into the metal market, with this album there riffs and chords are more metaller than ever, even some influences from the underground black metal scene. The songwriting has improved a lot, and there are a bigger range for metal fans all out there. The riffs and chords might not be hard hitting, but the rhythms and the vocals hit home everytime.


1. Twist

A very strange song none to say the least. Weird lyrics, well not really lyrics but a load of old shouting and mumbling. A funky but short song, a favourite in all korns minds as they always open their live shows with this one. Original piece of work. There are 2 versions, one without instruments and one with, the instrumental one has lots of whirring guitaring noises and heavy drumbeats, the un-instrumental gives fully effect to the song.

2. Chi

Good song, starts off straight away with a loud scream from john then the instruments come into play. Chorus has some very weird lyrics and some eerie and squeky guitar noises. A good song which starts off calm, but then steadily goes heavier and heavier. You really have to be a true fan to appreciate this song. The bridge has a very loud screamy part, so mothers be warned!!

3. Lost

One of my least tracks on the album, but still an okay song. Machiny type guitarine noise and heavy drumbeats and thumping bass help this to be one of the heaviest songs on the album. Quiet verses, heavy melodic chorus and heavy screamy bridge happens in this song, which is just trademark song. Lyrics are catchy too, but not original korn!!

4. Swallow

One of the songs that I har
dly listen to on the album, but I don?t know why because it is a classic. A excellent chorus, which rhythms a lot, and a funny verse with some rather provocating lyrics which takes the fun out of himself. Ending is also the same. Whirry guitaring and high pitched picking, loud bass makes this also one of the heaviest on the album. Great song!

5. Porno Creep

A very short instrumental song, but which some humming in! Not bad but definetely the worst on the album. Repetitive riffs and chords, not to mention lyrics, not the worst song ever but one of the worst korn ones ever!


6. Good God

Has to be one of the best songs on the album. Verses are short, echoey and have a tingly feeling to them. Nice riff to accompany, good lyircs which suit the song. A lot of swearing so be warned. Pre-chorus is a bit scrambly and screamy, then it harmonises and then screams with a thumping bass riff and loud guitars with johnathan shouting. One of the best korn chorus?s. Then a lot of screaming in the bridge with a bass solo, then it ends with the chorus once again. A classic korn song which they released.

7. Mr. Rogers

Excellent song! At times in this song he kinda sounds like Brian Molko from Placebo, which could be a bad thing. The intro is short, quiet and then breaks into the main song which is a loud guitar riff a little outside riff to it. Then the verses are once again quiet with a background harmony to it. Chorus is loud with lyrics I cannot understand. The thing that makes this so different is that the bridge is seperated into 2 parts, one quiet then it goes very, then the song ends, fades down!!

8. K#?@

No im not drunk, that?s the actual name of the song on the album. The song is really called ? Cunt ? but I don?t think record companies would allow that on the album, neither would music stores like it on the back of cd?s. The
opening has kinda an old rusty acoustic guitar feeling of it, then it breaks into more metally! The verse is full of swearing which tries to fit into each other, some offensive lyrics may be contained. Chorus is catchy and melodic, a song definetely for the kids?NOT!!

9. No Place To Hide

One of the lightest songs on the album, not saying its mellow but its quiet and one of the best out there. This song was the second to be released from the album. A bass intro and then goes into the riff. The verse are the same speed of the chorus, the bridge is the best part of the song as its quiet then goes back into the song, with a kinda reverse guitar effect. Excellent Song!!

10. Wicked

This song stars Chino Moreno from fellow rock band The Deftones. He mainly occupies the song with weird lyrics, he doesn?t sing the chorus as johnathan davis does. A song that doesn?t really go anywhere but is very catchy non the least, a fave for deftones and korn fans.

11. A.D.I.D.A.S

The best track on the album. This song was released first and the video is exceptionally good. A fun, catchy, melodic and sing a long song. Heavy riffs and echoey guitar effects go together well with johns ingenius lyrics and screaming. The chorus has to be the best korn chorus ever, with lyrics as? ? All Day I dream about sex, all day I dream about fucking ?, theres also a little guitar solo in this too which is very catchy and is easy to play for all us amateur guitar korn fans out there.

12. Ass Itch

A very unusual track with some very unusual lyrics and guitar riffs. Youll have to be a true korn fan to appreciate this, I cannot say more about this, other than it is weird.

13. Kill You

A great song on the album. A heavy riff accompanies drilling guitar noises and johns whining lyrics, a must for korn fans. John ta
lks bout getting beaten up by family and some hard hitting lyrics in this. A very heavy song, possibly one of the heaviest on the album A great song!!


Conclusion

If you are a real korn fan then you will definetely appreciate this, if you do not own this then I suggest you go out and buy it as soon as possible. If you are new to metal music then I think you should stay away from this as it has a select taste and very weird kind of music. Korn should be realeasing their new album in the next coming months, its called ? Here to stay ?, all comment and feedback appreciated.
