This is the lightning seeds at their peak, a medley of three minute wonders from a great little band. Each song on this album is irresistibly catchy (proven by my girlfriend who hates them yet sings along all the time) Ian Broudie has written some absolutely great songs, and for this best of CD they have simply taken the best of these, I could list every track as great but some manage to stand out, the wonderful pure, written for his wife is stunning, Marvellous, with its 2:10 intro is ambient to rocking in 5 minutes and the great Sugar Coated Iceberg is a proper geet ready to go out song. In fact this is one of the albums most used when im off out, it gets the ... Read the complete review

'Like You Do' was the reward for almost a decade in the life of music maestro Ian Broudie (as well as a variety of companions), and serves as a pocket-sized reminder of the great music that the 'group' produced between 1989 and 1997. It is interesting to note that another studio album, 'Tilt', was also released subsequent to this 'Best Of' set, but 'Like You Do' contains the vast majority of tracks that most people will remember. Like you Do is exactly what it says on the sleeve...a best of album. It contains the biggest hits of the bands 8 year history from the classic debut Pure to the smash hit Three Lions. It was authorised for release by Ian Broudie to relieve the stigma of the Euro 96 anthem and it certainly did that. It achieved platinum status which is well deserved because it caters for the whole spectrum of fans, from diehards like me to those who just want the songs they know. As well as most of the seeds singles (Joy is the only single not included on the album) the LP also contains two brand new songs and a re-recording of an old song from Dizzy Heights. All I Want can seem ... Read the complete review

LIKE YOU DO...BEST OF THE LIGHTNING SEEDS is an album containing the greatest hits of the LIGHTNING SEEDS. It features sixteen of the band's greatest singles. The album starts with the gentle WHAT YOU SAY a good way to start the album. The best track on the album follows THE LIFE OF RILEY an absolute classic. The great guitar solo and fantastic lyrics and fans of Match of the Day will remember it from goal of the month competition. LUCKY YOU is a good song, a bit slower though you can sing along to it. PURE and SUGAR COATED ICEBERG are both catchy tunes that have great lyrics and fantastic energy in the ... Read the complete review
