Interesting how an artist can rehabilitate their reputation isn’t it? These days Tori Amos sits firmly near the top of the celebrated female singer songwriter food chain. Sure she doesn’t sell as many records as say Dido, instead she has managed to straddle that thin line between cult popularity and mainstream exceptance. I recently got shown Tori Amos' by a close friend and I have been hooked ever since...in fact for the past 2 weeks I don't think I have listened to anything else, and I have bought 4 of the albums in the same space of time. Tori Amos is regarded by many as one of the most influential singer-songwriters to emerge from the 1990's. A few short months ago, the name 'Tori Amos' meant nothing to me. I had heard of her, but I wasn't familiar with any of her music. Then, based on the recommendation of an aquaintence of mine, I decided to look into it. After hearing "Icicle" and "Baker, Baker", I ran out and bought "Under the Pink."
