Advantages: Unexpected songs with good lyrics

Disadvantages: A few "to be expected" songs thrown in there

I really didnt expect much when my girlfriend downloaded who i thought was going to be a one hit wonder. While here in England, she does appear to have fizzled out, i will always have some of her songs in my head to keep me going when im bored.

I think my favorite songs are the ones she has released "love song" and "Bottle it up". I think that Sara Bareilles seems sweet and like all her songs would be corny and predictable, but she suprised me. Even her song that was titles "love song" isn't about her love for someone in a corny way, shes refusing to write a love song, i enjoyed that all her songs were not 100% as they seemed, and some had a darker edge that people might expect. Her vocals are great on all the songs and her way with lyrics shines on some of the more meaningful songs.

While there are a few songs which i found a bit boring and maybe were what i imagined her whole album to be like, the songs that i found good, were very good indeed. There was a wide range of tracks and styles of music on the album which kept the album fresh and from becoming a typical female solo artist album.

I'd recommend this album to a variety of people, her downfall being that people will judge her before they give her a chance, and chances are a large variety of people who would enjoy her wouldn't bother to read this review in the first place!
