... stage in front of an appreciative crowd knows what this can do to your performance and you really feel that here the fans are helping to make the music as well as the band. More of that later. Cheap Trick are so vastly underrated. They are a pure out and out pop-rock band with leanings toward the slightly heavier and the mad. Good solid back line of Bun E. Carlos on drums (Tonight, Matthew I'm going to be an insurance salesman from Pinner - he really is the most unlikely looking rockstar ever) and Tom Petersson o...more

Crowned Review At Budokan: The Complete Concert - Cheap Trick: It Was All Gravy (2093 words)

Rating:

JOHNDMR asked me to do this months ago. Well John, I've finally got around to doing it but only because I had to buy the damn thing first and remind myself how good it is. I only had this on yellow vinyl, see, and I couldn't play it anymore. As luck would have it, this version's much much better. I reckon that this is just about the best live album ever recorded and I can't believe that only John and I know about it. I've got the Who's "Live at Leeds" (the long one) and Thin Lizzy's "Live and Dangerous". Rory Gallagher's done some storming live albums and the Dylan bloke's done a couple which are rated ...  Read the complete review

energetic, original style, sing-a-long choruses a little experimental

Great music, Good mix of song styles Not as good as they get

catchy beats and lyrics, each song stands out on its own its not original

Further refines the band's complex sound. Post-rock and prog influences lead to inevitable problems with length.

A less aggro-centric Slipknot with slightly more musical ability. Nothing original, merely an obvious smorgasbord of influence.

A good introduction to the band Misses some less known classics

Quebec - Ween
Listen to it to hear the fun! Like all CDs, it ends!

Red Album - Baroness
An intelligent, well written and executed modern metal release. The majority of songs are merely great rather than outstanding.

Relentless Recurrence - ChthoniC
Pleasant and considerate melodic black metal. Lack of cultural identity.

Revolution - Crematory
Continuing to evolve. Electronic elements are occasionally too much.

Robot Hive/exodus - Clutch
Riff-laden blues rock at its finest. Not quite as good as 2004's 'Blast Tyrant'.

Room For Abuse - Spunge
An excellent album of ska punk, fantastically fun to listen to. If you don't like ska punk you'll hate this.

Salvation - Cult Of Luna
Goth - 2004

Sam Sparro - Sam Sparro
Current single Black and Gold Its cold and repetetive

Save Yourself - Nora
The final three tracks of the album are fantastic. The first even tracks are fairly average.

Scarsick - Pain Of Salvation
Heavy Metal - 2007
