Jackson Browne: Saturate Before Using - Jackson Browne
by cyberem78 - written on 14/03/09 (Very useful, 106 readings)
Rating:
Using is a moniker this album gained after the wordy illustration on the record cover was mistaken as the actual title. Infact, this debut album was originally self-titled Jackson Browne . Nowadays the digitally remastered version of the CD is marked with the slang term along the spine and stores selling the CD identify it as the Saturate... album. Browne has a beautiful, sleepy voice that conveys sensitivity and intelligence. He has a deep, effortless masculine yawp that comes right from the back of his throat combined with a more feathery, softer tonal quality. His accent is clearly identifiable as American and it also possibly seems tinged with Californian ...

Late For The Sky - Jackson Browne
by GKDurkin - written on 08/04/08 (Useful, 36 readings)
Rating:
s craftsmanship is superb, especially on the unexpectedly jaunty The Road and The Sky. A brief flick through the credits reveals a stellar cast of 70 s California luminaries such as The Eagles Don Henley, Kaleidoscope multi instrumentalist David Lindley and the late great Dan Fogelberg. Fans of singer- songwriters, the US west coast sound and the Jackson Browne newbie would all do well to grab this mid price release rather than a full priced greatest hits collection, as it gives a real feel for the artist at his peak and a good starting point for further ...

Solo Acoustic Vol 1 - Jackson Browne
by Toonie - written on 09/08/08 (Very useful, 24 readings)
Rating:
As an introduction to Jackson Browne s music, this CD showcases his talent. His ability to put across emotions through singing is wonderful. This CD doesn t have all the "Greatest Hits" but does have many songs which deserve to have a fresh listen and approach after some over production on studio albums, Browne plays either guitar or piano on all songs and hearing the songs in such a raw form gives the audience an opportunity to appreciate their lyrics far more. The introductions to the songs provide a little insight into both the music and singer, including humorous asides to getting old and not being able to remember all the songs words. As well as people ...
