This album was released at M Magnum s most commercial point in their career and was, to me, a bit of a disappointment. With only eight tracks, it tried to bridge the gap between their already loyal fan-base and a heavily competitive market and, for me, it never entirely worked! Don t Wake The Lion and Wild Swan are my only two real favourites on the album and are the closest here the band get to recreating their former glory. The first of these, Don t Wake The Lion, is an anti-war song that attempts to look at world-wide conflict not just from one side but from the view of both opposing armies and is all about the futility of war; the Lion of the title referring to an ...
