Advantages: Glam Rock as it was meant to be!

Disadvantages: None.

When Poison released their debut album 'look what the cat dragged in', it seemed a very apt title. Brett, Ricky, CC, and Bobby took glam rock to the extreme, plastering on more make up than all the members of Vixen put together.
Other bands of the time classed them as trash and there was well known hostility between the boys from Poison and the boys from Guns N' Roses, (rumoured to be because Slash had tried out for the band and been turned down for being too ugly!)
The music was glam rock at its very finest, yet despite all the bad press Poison were given, even on this first album nestled a tell tale sign that the boys were about more than just sex and lipstick.
The beautiful 'I won't forget you' showed that Bret's ability to sing a great rock 'n' roll ballad was as good as his ability to talk at speeds that would put racing commentators to shame!
CC's guitaring was undeniably good - maybe not brilliant, but then none of the songs called for very much.
Like most glam, there is little here to set the world on fire, but plenty to enjoy.
If you like glam this album is definitely one for the collection.
