Floridian Ska Punks Less Than Jake are a band that I have been a huge fan of for some years now. I have been a great admirer of almost every single one of their albums and 'Losing Streak' is no exception to this rule. It was released back in 1996, an album jam packed full of fantastic music which is brilliant fun to listen to and I would say that it's definitely well worth giving it a go. If you're at all a fan of the Ska Punk scene then 'Losing Streak' is without a doubt an album that is vital for you to listen to, one that should impress you hugely and live long in the memory. A lot of my favourite Less Than Jake songs come from the 'Losing Streak' album and it is ... Read the complete review

Losing streak was the second studio album from the ska punk band Less Than Jake. I didn't get this album until hearing their third album so I wasn't expecting it to be quite as good as the third, and to be honest it wasn't quite but I was still more than happy with how good this album was. The first song off this album is automatic. It starts with just guitar and at first listening I thought it was going to be a really punk song, however I was totally wrong as the trumpets kick in and it turns into a fantastic ska song, with Chris singing his voice sounds really young in this album and its good to hear how he's changed over time Just like Frank is ... In my mind this is the best album that less than jake have released and those who know me will say that i'm a very open-minded kind of a fellow. If you've already read my opinion on the band itself you'll know all about the band and the line-up and their history and for those that have not read it, what the hell do you think you're playing at??? No, but seriously, if you have not already got this album then you are really missing out. It is jam-packed wih quality punk-ska tunes, evryone bringing somethig special with it to make this great album. The best songs in my mind have to be Automatic, Shindo, How's my Driving Doug ... This CD is an perfect portrail of underground Ska-Punk in the United States. With songs about their surroundings and life basically. There is also the song about Why their CD's are low priced and their shows have low ticket fees titled "Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sell Outs". The CD has a slight difference to "Hello Rockview" It has a more rough sound proper punk rock! For a fan of Green Day or Madness this is an album to add to your collection, The Cd's split with Hello Rockview so don't look for it seperately. Ska-punk is tatooing the world and no one can stop and dare I say it... They are the next Blink 182! This album is a scorcher ... Read the complete review
