Premium Review Love Actually - Craig Armstrong - Soundtrack: Lots of Love (335 words)
by pmcds - written on 27/02/08 (Useful, 19 readings)
Rating:

I bought the 'Love Actually' Original Soundtrack for my wife. We went to the cinema to watch the film while she was pregnant with our firstborn, and it seemed fitting to obtain the soundtrack. The film, in brief, is a tale of many romances interwoven and interlinked by the characters in it. It has a whole horde of star British actors and actresses, and is accompanied by a wonderful soundtrack. There are 20 tracks, many by famous names but some by unknowns. I found this to be a wonderful balance of romance, intermingled with some fun poppy numbers and even some classical music. A very well balanced CD. The tracks: There are 20 tracks. Here ...

Crowned Review Every Moment I Love You (3032 words)

I was lucky enough to be bought this soundtrack, for no reason other than for being Me! I got it before I actually watched the film so a few songs confused me, such as Billy Mack’s version of Christmas Is All Around, however after watching the film it has all made sense and come together beautifully. I think it is impossible to speak about this soundtrack without some references to the film, as this is the soundtrack to a film so all the emotions and highs and lows of the fim are conveyed in its' music. The music from Love Actually truly makes the film and feeds off your emotions experienced while watching it. It covers all the different kinds of ...

Crowned Review Love Actually - Craig Armstrong - Soundtrack: Feel The Love (1392 words)

Before I saw ‘Love Actually’, I had already seen a few music videos from various artists which included snippets of the film, so I had a fair idea of the music which would be included on the soundtrack. If I love a film, I tend to love the music from the film too, and the soundtrack becomes an automatic addition to my collection, not always cherished though I might add. I bought my copy from CD-WOW when it was released, and I paid £8.99 at the time. The opening track is from Girls Aloud, and is their commercially successful cover of the Pointer Sister’s hit ‘Jump’. It is not my cup of tea, and although the original song was no work of art, it is a classic in ...

Pop Rock - 2007

Classic Young without filler from his early years. Casual fans might prefer Decade or to cherrypick singles tracks.

Some of Dandos best songs A mixed bag

I am glad I was introduced to this one . One dodgy track could have been omited .

A superb collection of creative and inspiring pieces by a band moving forward into a new decade. a couple of poor bonus tracks on the 2004 re issue.

Puzzle - Biffy Clyro
A brilliant album from start to finish, with all songs sounding like potential singles. The cleaner production may take away the edge people felt Biffy had before.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End - Soundtrack
More orchestral, more complex, more malleable It's still a Zimmer pop-a-popcorn score, so don't get overly excited

Other Side Of The Mirror - Stevie Nicks
Some great songs, good mix of country inspired rock and electro 90's style of soft rock synth style. Not many; avoid the high prices.

Off To Join The World - Blaine Larsen
Country - Contemporary Country - 2005

Nomad The Warrior - Carlo Siliotto - Soundtrack
Great mix of ethnic and traditional à la Maurice Jarre Album really bitty with not enough decent development of themes

New World - James Horner - Soundtrack
Wonderfully relaxing experience that is a joy to return to again and again Not very original, but so what

Myths Of The Near Future - Klaxons
original, great lyrics, not one track sounds like the other

Great sound and insightful lyrics Dylan's voice is not to every taste

Some great musical moments Some better Live Lounge sessions could've been included
