Advantages: Great combination of music
Disadvantages: None really, although this needs to be your thing
I bought the 'Love Actually' Original Soundtrack for my wife. We went to the cinema to watch the film while she was pregnant with our firstborn, and it seemed fitting to obtain the soundtrack. The film, in brief, is a tale of many romances interwoven and interlinked by the characters in it. It has a whole horde of star British actors and actresses, and is accompanied by a wonderful soundtrack.
There are 20 tracks, many by famous names but some by unknowns. I found this to be a wonderful balance of romance, intermingled with some fun poppy numbers and even some classical music. A very well balanced CD.
The tracks:
There are 20 tracks. Here they are:
1. Girls Aloud - Jump (For My Love)
2. Sugababes - Too Lost In You
3. Kelly Clarkson - The Trouble With Love Is
4. Dido - Here With Me
5. Billy Mack - Christmas Is All Around
6. Norah Jones - Turn Me On
7. Eva Cassidy - Songbird
8. Maroon 5 - Sweetest Goodbye
9. The Calling - Wherever You Will Go
10. Texas - I'll See It Through
11. Joni Mitchell - Both Sides Now
12. Otis Reading - White Christmas
13. Wyclef Jean featuring Sharissa - Take Me As I Am
14. Olivia Olsen - All I Want For Chrstmas Is You
15. The Beach Boys - God Only Knows
16. Lynden David Hall - All You Need Is Love
17. Gabrielle - Sometimes
18. Craig Armstrong - Glasgow Love Theme
19. Craig Armstrong - PM's Love Theme
20. Portugese Love Theme
As you can see, there is a wonderful mix of tracks here, many of which were released as singles. There is even one there, number 5, by Billy Mack, who is actually the character in the film played by Bill Nighy! I loved this album as well as the film.
The CD can be bought from most retail outlets, and online for as little as £4.98 from amazon.co.uk, or £4.99 from play.com
Thanks for reading. Please check my other reviews. Thanks.

- 27/02/08 Quality film, and some good songs. Why are the Bay City Rollers not on it though? Not cool enough I suppose. |
