      Good album.

      **Introduction**

I love all kinds of Music and I am always finding new artists that I soon become a fan of. One of the recent moments like that was when I found Jazmine Sullivan on Spotify, I loved her debut album which was released in 2008 and quickly became a fan of her music, so much so that I bought that album and also this album. I reviewed the debut on here a while ago and then looking for something new to review I found that nobody had reviewed this her second album yet so thought I'd get onto writing this review. She has become of my favourite current female R&B singers around.

      **Love Me Back**

The album, like her debut was very well received by critics and her peers. The production comes from a number of well known producers including Missy Elliot, Neyo and also Salaam Remi. The album was released on 29th November 2010 and features two singles "10 Seconds" & "Holding You Down (Goin' in Circles)" which were both released before the album was released. The album features a collaboration with Neyo who produced the track.

1.) Holding You Down (Goin' in Circles)

This is a catchy opener, Sullivan's vocals are smoky and expressive and sound beyond her years. The track is about when a relationship isn't working out and you just feel that you are going round in circles and the issues aren't dealt with. There are plenty of catchy beats here and some nice hooks but musically it's not up there with the best on the album but it gets the album off to a decent start all the same. The track was co written and was produced by Missy Elliot.

      2.) 10 Seconds

This is a lovely ballad which has a real emotive feel to it, the gentle beats kick in after a while and the lovely subtle strings add a nice feel and as the song gets into it's flow you feel the real emotion of the song. It's about a relationship ending badly after he cheats and she kicks him out of the house. The vocals are terrific and the structure is excellent too. I love the way this song develops and the emotion is sincere and the overall song is excellent.

      3.) Good Enough

This is another very good track indeed. It has a catchy beat and a really good flow. It's about when you fall out of love with someone when they don't appreciate you anymore and following on well from the previous track telling them to leave if that's the way they feel. It has a great message about treating your partner right otherwise they may leave you.

      4.) Don't make me wait

This track reminds me a little of the 80s/90s dance pop from Madonna, it has some catchy hooks and beats from that style and the flowing backing vocals also add a nice touch. This is a decent track which is a toe tapper and has a good dance feel. It shows the range of the album with several different styles worked into her music.

      5.) Love you longtime

This is a catchy track which has some excellent hooks and the beats are a decent feature of the album. I love when the beats come in and the vocals are strong and varied. This is a flowing mid tempo track which has a lot going for it as it showcases her vocal ability and also the catchy hooks and beats of the Music which are a nice touch and work well on the track.

      6.) Redemption

This track is quite similar to Alicia Keys' style and the vocals are reminiscent of hers, The catchy beats and hooks are also very Keys' like. The track really showcases her vocal ability with some excellent powerful vocals which express superbly. The track is about bad relationships where things happen to give redemption.

      7.) Excuse Me

This is a lovely ballad which has an old soul feel and her vocals are particularly excellent on this emotive track about telling someone just how much you feel for them. This is another track which was produced by Missy Elliot as she shows something different from her usual style. This is a lovely ballad from Jazmine Sullivan which really showcases her excellent voice.

8.) U Get on My Nerves

This is an excellent collaboration with Neyo and is about a warring couple who've split up but no matter how bad they are for each other when they are together they still hold each other dear and can't let go. The track is done in a conversational style with both singers having their points then the other counters. This is an excellent track which shows a different side of Love and relationships from the normal tracks you get. Excellent stuff.

      9.) Stuttering

This is another excellent ballad, it's about when you meet someone you fall for and you are nervous around them and can't get out what you want to say to them about how much you like them. The music builds wonderfully from a sedated opening and then the piano and beats combine to raise the volume. This is one of the best tracks on the album and is a great example of her talent. Great vocals and some great emotion.

      10.) Famous

This track is about Jazmine's longing to make something of herself with her Music and how she longed to be Famous for her talent. This comes across well and is all about being herself and not changing from being famous which people are so often accused of. This is a very good track which features some excellent vocals and a nice backing with strings and gentle clap beats.

      11.) Luv Back

This is the final track on the album and is the third collaboration with Missy Elliot on Production. It's an uptempo track with an excellent flow. the funky beats and hooks combine well with her vocals. This is a nice catchy track to end with and has some good catchy parts to tap your feet to. Good stuff which flows really well.

      **Overall**

This is another excellent album from Jazmine Sullivan. Her vocal ability is clear to hear and her songs are emotive when they need to be with the Ballads and the up beat tracks are beat heavy and very catchy as they should be. This is a very promising second album which suggests that her debut release was just the start of things and she could be around in music for a long while to come. Based on the second release I would totally agree with that and can't wait to hear more from her in the next few years and to hear her grow as an artist.
