Advantages: 80% of it is genius.
Disadvantages: 20% is just good.
This is my favourite Stevie Wonder album. I have owned it for many years and play it regularly. All of these tracks were originally recorded between 1962 and 1970, a golden age for contemporary music.
Stevie has made some great faster tempo songs such as Sir Duke and Jammin' that are brilliant but I especially like his ballads and love songs.
There are loads of them on this 20 track gem of an album.
My Cherie Amour is just ultra smooth and melodic.
Yester-me, Yester-you, Yester-day is impossible not to sing along to.
Never Had A Dream Come True is classic soul.
If You Really Loved Me has a 70s feel and is one of the highlights.
Never Had A Dream Come True is superb and has an all time great intro to it.
A Place In The Sun is quite mellow but still sticks in your brain.
Alfie is an instrumental track displaying his total genius on the harmonica.
(He features a lot playing the harmonica on many other artist's tracks, one that immediately comes to mind is his solo on the Eurythmics "There Must Be an Angel (Playing with My Heart)")
I would put him up there with Stephane Grapelli, Larry Adler and Toots Thielemans.
For Once In My Life is very good and has good lyrics.
We Can Work It Out is Beatles cover.
I Was Made To Lover Her is a great love song and has harmonica on it.
I Don't Know Why I Love Her is a slightly darker kind of love song.
Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours oozes natural rhythm.
These are the highlights but all of the tracks are excellent.
