A compilation of Cradle of Filth's greatest hits would probably lead you to believe you were going to be blown away by some sensational guitar riffs accompanied by chest pounding drums and ear drum shredding screams from the Filth himself, i'm afraid to say you would be probably be disappointed if this is what you were expecting. Disc one is consistent of songs torn straight off of albums from their time with Music For Nations, and disc two is just extra tracks and some limited editions of tracks from their previous releases with MFN. Cradle of Filth's popularity escalated as their music became more predictable and less imaginative, once again demonstrating the mediocre tastes of the masses (even those who misleadingly fancy themselves as alternative by reading such obscure publications as 'Kerrang!'), and 2002 saw several releases cashing in on this mainstream success in wont of a proper studio album. 'Lovecraft & Witchhearts' is an unashamed best-of compilation bulked out by some rare and unreleased material in the form of remixes and cover songs, and I'll admit that it's quite a good collection.
