... content as opposed to the quality of the music in the songs it kind of made me feel slightly disappointed. Having said that there are a few tracks which will definitely live on as their greatest, songs such as 'Her Ghost In The Fog' and 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' (probably the best cover of an Iron Maiden song ever) really step up the mark for this genre of music. Side by side with songs like 'Dusk And Her Embrace' and 'Lord Abortion' it makes for a very good little playlist for your ipod, but really nothing more. Ok, so...more

Premium Review Lovecraft And Witchhearts - Cradle Of Filth: Meh... (436 words)

Rating:

A compilation of Cradle of Filth's greatest hits would probably lead you to believe you were going to be blown away by some sensational guitar riffs accompanied by chest pounding drums and ear drum shredding screams from the Filth himself, i'm afraid to say you would be probably be disappointed if this is what you were expecting. Disc one is consistent of songs torn straight off of albums from their time with Music For Nations, and disc two is just extra tracks and some limited editions of tracks from their previous releases with MFN. I have to say i didn't enjoy this album very much at all, with a lot of emphasis going into the lyrical content as ...  Read the complete review

Rating:

Cradle of Filth's popularity escalated as their music became more predictable and less imaginative, once again demonstrating the mediocre tastes of the masses (even those who misleadingly fancy themselves as alternative by reading such obscure publications as 'Kerrang!'), and 2002 saw several releases cashing in on this mainstream success in wont of a proper studio album. Its avoidance of the band's earliest material is disappointing, but it fortunately ...  Read the complete review

Superb live versions of metallica classics with a diffrence Little bit too much Orchestra sometimes, not often though

good not as good as other albums

The best metal/hard rock album in time? maybe Allegedly ''the sell out album''

Great album, very good keyboards, and very memorable chants. Not great mastering.

Approachable technical metal, with great performances and attitude. Some songs feel restless.
