INTRODUCTION This is one of my favourite long players ever. I wasn't sure if I could do it justice in full of it's unique beauty; I'm still not fully convinced I can. I first got hold of this as a birthday present on tape in 1991, the year of it's release, and have been hooked ever since. It was a popular copy on my tape-to-tape deck amongst my uni friends, all keen to hear this strange yet compelling noise. It's such a unique album, even when compared with their previous work; there were one or 2 bands using the same ideas at the time, Medicine for example who I also quite like, but since then no one has ever tried to use their ideas. Fronted by the elusive and enigmatic Kevin Shields, they released two great albums of note: 1988's Isn't Anything and this album, Loveless, from 1991. Loveless resembles a wild stallion, unfettered but still magnificent. It is only when you have tamed the sound that the true genius appears through the fog. The fact that Kevin Shields spent several months trying to perfect its lush sound, almost going mad in the process can only be for the worlds benefit. Nowadays he occasionally slums ... The Work Which Transforms God - Blut Aus Nord
Hugely atmospheric, well crafted songs, well balanced as an album
May be a little too avant-garde for some
Riff After Riff - Wildhearts
Heavy Metal - 2004
Odinist - Blut Aus Nord
Departure from the tedious electronic direction.
Every song sounds the same, and lacks energy.
Mort - Blut Aus Nord
Hugely atmospheric, original, well executed
Its abstract nature will not be to everyones taste
Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets - Soundtrack
Still enjoyable...
...and still just as predictable as Philosopher's Stone
Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire - Soundtrack
Great, heraldic and melodic music from start to finish
Maybe too overbearing at times; discredits older themes; "Not by John Williams"; Stupid songs
Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone - Soundtrack
Enjoyable and non-demanding
Derivative and flat
Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban - John Williams - Soundtrack
A completely fresh take on Harry Potter music, cold and unforgiving
Little allegiance with the series itself
Thematic Emanation Of Archetypal Multiplicity - Blut Aus Nord
Varied and atmospheric
Industrial parts are a little generic sounding in places.
Come Death - Blood Red Throne
Death metal in the classic style, from some incredible performers.
Songs do become a little drawn-out and dull on occasion.
