Lucy Pearl is a band that consist of three members, Ali Shaheed Muhammad (ex-member of 'A Tribe Called Quest'), Raphael Saddiq (from 'Tony! Toni! Tone!') and Dawn Robinson (singer from 'En Vogue'). Their previous experiences in the music industry is enough to persuade you to at least give their album the benefit of the doubt!

Their first single, 'Dance Tonight' that featured on the soundtrack for the movie 'Love & Basketball' was impressive. The tune was catchy with alluring lyrics sung by Dawn Robinson. I found myself humming it all the time from the first time I heard it on MTV.

Their second single, 'Don't Mess With My Man' proved the strength of their ability to create superb music. From then on I have heard the rest of their album and I can honestly say that I am impressed with the album as a whole. A great album to listen to whilst out driving, clubbing, you name. There is a song that would appeal to everyone.

Sadly to say Lucy Pearl is not a group that has caught on up here in Aberdeen. That could be due to the fact that there isn't a large population of r'n'b lovers that i know of. If you like r'n'b and enjoy listening to tunes that make you want to hum along with them, try this album.
