'Lunar Strain' isn't exactly one of the classics of Swedish melodic death metal, nor is it the strongest debut (At the Gates' 'The Red in the Sky is Ours' takes the crown), but it's still a highly enjoyable and impressive release that paves the way for the band's second, more consistent album.
