This band’s music is certainly not for anyone without a sense of humour or if they are easily offended. That means that many people will not have seen or heard anything about this band. They have missed out big time! If you are into fast and furious music with a lot of funny lines then this is the band for you. It does take sometime to catch everything they say or sing because they use a lot of slang words in there songs. You may be lucky to see them because they have a tendency to get themselves banned from most venues they play. The Macc lads, called this because they come from Macclesfield are a bunch of boozy blokes that sing about all the things that happen to us in real life situations, some good things but mostly bad. They don’t pull any punch’s either and the songs are filled with swearing but if you take it with a pinch of salt it certainly is very funny. A line in one of the songs is “Can you hold your Liquor love? Always by the ears”. Not Lennon and McCartney I grant you but much funnier.

If you enjoy music that is loud, raucous, in yer face, yet with a healthy dose of humour, then The Macc Lads may be the band for you. Banned from just about everywhere, their songs are full of bad language, sex and alcohol, yet all with a light hearted view (in the lad's own warped way) Most large record stors stock Macc Lads, and I strongly reccomend 'Twenty Golden Crates' which has everything from Sweaty Betty, ('Slap that and ride the ripples') to Barrel's Round ('You've got veins in yer bodies, we've got boddies in us veins') Not forgetting the brilliantly disgusting Dan's Underpants. Curious? Buy one and see.

        Disadvantages

The macc lads are the filthiest, crudest band in the world. Their songs cover all the subjects lads talk about down the pub, be warned, they don't pull any punches. As a fan from way back I have been to see them live many times, and thankfully lived to tell the tale. If you get chance to see them, don't expect to come home with a shirt on your back, or shoes on your feet for that matter, but believe me if you have a crude sense of humour and love loud guitar riffs and an atmosphere of barely suppressed violence, you will have the time of your life. The lads have many fine albums to track down - 'Bitter, fit crack', 'Beer and sex and chips and gravy', and 'From beer to eternity' are some of my favourites. The macc lads have a reputation for shagging, boozing, fighting and getting locked up, but I heard a rumour that Muttly McLad, the singer/bass player was seen in a wine bar drinking a dry white wine, and he hates the taste of ale. Get the albums and make your own mind up, I think they are for real, or maybe it's all tongue in cheek, but be warned this is politically incorrect, unsuitable for minors and those of a nervous disposition, but funny, very very funny.

        Disadvantages

The Macc Lads are definitely not for the easily offended. Possibly they're not for the reasonably hard to offend. If you are a feminist, they are absolutley not for you. If, like me, you enjoy a good rocking riff, have a sence of humour with a healthy dose of smut, you will love The macc Lads. Every song is full to the brim with things to make you go Urrggh! From Dan's Underpants to Fellatio Nelson, these songs have it all, sex, booze, birds and diarrhoea. To quote one of the less offensive lines, "Treat your women like toilets, they're happy when you're abusing them Toilets don't follow you round When you've finished using them" Hopefully that will give you an idea of whether you will find this band unbelievable sick and offensive or lots of fun! These guys have been banned from nearly everywhere they've played, (often before they've got to play there!)Personally, I'm a big fan and they've yet to offend me, though they have grossed me out with a couple of lyrics!
