Static-X is a band I came across some years ago now when watching the Kerrang! TV channel, the bands 'Black and White' video was being played and I therefore decided to invest in the bands 'Machine' album which was released in 2001. I had been quite impressed by the track I'd heard, obviously enough so to buy the bands album and see what else this industrial metal outfit had to offer. The album consists of 12 tracks and this provides for 43 minutes of music. From first track 'Bien Venidos' right through to the six minute closer of 'A Dios Alma Perdida' there's really very little instrumental variation here; the band sticks to the exact same industrial metal ... <bien venidos> The album starts with a small clip of what sounds like a little Mexican fiesta, with people cheering and a cheesy accordion! 6/10 <Get to the gone> The start of the song juxtaposes well with the introduction, with wildly played down-tuned guitars and Wayne screaming! The singing is growly and screechy at different parts of the song. This is quite a bit heavier than most of the other songs, even though it is a reasonably heavy album. The drum rolls, guitar riffs and singing collide and explode, before claming down. I don?t know whether anyone else has noticed the bit in the middle that sounds like a computer game! 7/10 ... Recorded at Studio 508 in L.A. and released on may 22nd 2001 'Machine' is the second, and in my opinion best, album from industrial metal band Static X. It is a sensational album and consists of 12 tracks which are: 1. Bien Venidos 2. Get to the Gone 3. Permanence 4. Black and White 5. This Is Not 6. Otsego Undead 7. Cold 8. Structural Defect 9. ...In a Bag 10. Burn to Burn 11. Machine 12. A Dios Alma Perdida Three of the eleven were released into the mainstream and they were Black and White, This Is Not and Cold (in that order). Cold was used for the movie Queen Of The Damned and ... Hmmm, no section for this album. Static-X have really just broken on to the scene in a huge way with their massively powerful song ‘Black and White’. This has been in the top 10 most requested songs on K! TV for a few weeks now, which means that this bands are destined for big things. The reason this band first caught my eye is because of their collaboration with Dead Prez in the huge hip-hop track ‘Hip Hop’. Giving the song a new edge, I advise you to download it if you can find it anywhere. I downloaded quite a few songs by this band before I felt brave enough to go and burn some of my hard earned wages on it, I sometimes ... Read the complete review

Static-x is Wayne-vocals,guitar,programming,keyboards Tony Campos-base,backing vocals Ken Jay-drums Tripp Rex Elsen-guitar Their first album was "Wisconsin Death Trip". Their most recent album ,"Machine",was released on the Warner bros.label.Produced by Ulrich Wild(deftones/pantera)the album is damn good! Static X's sound is basically Metal(described on K!tv as cyber metal)but if you like music thats made to be listened to loud you can't go far wrong with this album. Tracks on "Machine" are 1:Bien Venidos:a slightly odd opener with no explanation. At 23s long it is kinda pointless and is nothing to ... Read the complete review
