Made In The Dark - Hot Chip

Hot Chip are a great UK dance band and they produce some amazingly quirky videos as well. Lead vocalist lex Taylor is a really cool guy and has a very distinctive vocal style that is very intimate in the way that it covers the music. This dance band produce some great rhythms that have an electro pop sound to them and they are very inventive in the style of music that they produce. Ready for the Floor is probably my favourite track on the album, it has an almost tinny electro sound and hypnotic vocals. **SHORT HISTORY Hot Chip are an unconventional dance band that are best known for their previous album, 'The Warning' which was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize. Formed in the year 2000, fed up of boring and bland music, hot chip decided it was time to create some of the most insane songs they could. At least this is what it sounds like, on 'made in the dark' released in 2008. Blending a mixture of dance, electro-pop, punk and indie, the band sound as one of the most unique bands out there. They have a definate originality compared to the more mainstream music out there. Hot Chip not only produce some great videos for their songs but the actual music is pretty good as well. In fact I really got into the after hearing a track in a club and then finding them on myspace and u-tube. They are an electro dance band and this is an excellent album with some very catchy songs helped by the distinctive voice of lead singer Alex Taylor. This album is packed with great dance songs and my favourite has to be Hold On which has a great beat to it and has some trance influences with a heavy house beat as well. This is an almighly corker. What a gem of a second album, who would hav thought it. Their first album was a bit of a flopp, with only two of their tracks being known. This album, Made In the Dark, is a great, whether listening in your car, at home, at a party, its just great. There is nothing fancy about Hot Chip, two front men, who just look like ordinary guys you would meet down the pub. The music on this album is very poppy and quite dancy but it really does work. I can honestly say, hand on heart, I like every single song on this album.
