'Madonna' originally came out on U.S. label Merge last November and was rightly hailed as a rock classic. The Trail - there's no doubt they need a shorter name to be known by - hail from Austin, but ZZ Top-Texan comparisons stop there; on this record they are playing the music SonicYouth are no longer arsed about, and they are doing it dressed as the Small Faces. There is simply no downside to The Trail, they have thought of everything. Except, perhaps, the incongruous sleeve artwork, which UK licensees Domino, have inexplicably decided to run with.
"You get the feeling they need to get out more. Still, unnerving obsession with rotting corpses aside, 'Madonna' remains an excellent record, complete with carpet-bombing drums that don't fit with any of the songs, crashing, baroque feedback and a deluge of wilful teenage nihilism."

Sorry, but you'd be better spending more time to make one review worthwhile than churning out a dozen as quick as you can.

You don't tell the reader anything about the album or what we can expect from it.
